Tiger Shroff firing: Anil Pandit declared wanted, police seek 14-day custody of three accused
Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Anil Pandit has been named a wanted accused, while Mumbai police seek custody of the arrested men to trace the weapons and the planners.
The case of the firing at actor Tiger Shroff has taken a new turn. Anil Pandit, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has now been named a wanted accused. Earlier, a social media post had gone viral, in which it emerged that Pandit had claimed responsibility for the firing.
Meanwhile, police produced three men arrested in the case before a court in burqas after medical examination. Along with a remand report, police have sought 14 days of police custody for them.
According to police, the investigation will cover several points. It has to be established on whose instructions and with what motive the accused fired the shots. Police also have to find where they obtained the weapons and recover them. The mobile phones used in the incident have to be seized. The role of the accused who are still absconding will also be examined.
Besides this, the remaining accused arrested in Delhi have to be questioned. Police also have to investigate whether financial help was received for the firing and whether an organised gang played a role in the incident.
Police say the arrested accused have links to Bihar and Haryana, while the remaining accused are in different states. For this reason, police need to travel to several states for the investigation.
Four more accused, caught in Delhi, were produced on Thursday before the Esplanade Court in Mumbai. After hearing both sides, the court ordered that they be sent to police custody until October 26. Police had sought custody until October 31, but the court granted it only until October 26.
According to the remand application police filed in court, Anil Pandit is an absconding accused in the case. During the hearing, Mumbai Police claimed that the firing was carried out at Pandit's behest. However, his exact role in the case is still under investigation.
