Raj Thackeray questions govt over Bishnoi gang's claim of attack on Tiger Shroff in Juhu
MNS chief Raj Thackeray asked why a gang held in Sabarmati jail can claim responsibility openly, after the attack on actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu.
Actor Tiger Shroff was attacked openly one evening in Mumbai's Juhu area. Shroff narrowly escaped, but two other people were injured. Soon after the attack, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. The gang had also warned those who maintain friendship with Salman Khan. Police have caught the attackers, and 10 people have so far been put behind bars. MNS chief Raj Thackeray has now spoken on the matter.
After the attack, the government acted immediately and put the police to work. Police investigated swiftly and arrested all three attackers from Kota in Rajasthan. Questions are still being raised, because soon after the attack the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had announced on social media that it was behind it. The gang is lodged in Gujarat's Sabarmati jail, and responsibility is being claimed openly from there. For this reason, fingers are being pointed at the government's role. After MP Sanjay Raut, Raj Thackeray has now also questioned the government.
Asked about Lawrence Bishnoi and the attack on Tiger Shroff, Raj Thackeray replied with a jibe and also put sharp questions to those in power. He said he was reminded today of the line "Sabarmati ke sant tu ne kar diya kamaal". In this way he took a dig at the Union Home Minister. He said the question of security should be taken seriously. He asked what the BJP would have done if it were in opposition and such incidents took place.
Thackeray also rebuked BJP leaders. According to him, the role is different while in opposition and different once in power. They say they have delivered, but arrangements are not being made. Thackeray said that he should be taken out of jail and beaten, that no one is afraid. He then asked whether they are nurturing them.
Thackeray said the country has law but not order. He said he has 100 per cent faith in the Mumbai and Maharashtra police and that, according to him, the police will bring the crime rate down to zero level. He said political interference must stop. Over the past few years, matters in the country have kept piling up and cannot stay suppressed for long. Whatever news erupted today has come out.
According to Thackeray, journalists are angry, students and homemakers are angry, everyone is angry, and it will come out. He said no one goes about setting fires for no reason, and that Ravana's Lanka was not burnt without cause. Thus Thackeray said that anger lies within every citizen of the country.
