Seven more arrested in Tiger Shroff firing case; women used to carry weapons, Mumbai Police say

Mumbai Police said seven more people were arrested on Wednesday, taking the total to 10, including two women who were used as couriers for the weapons.

Mumbai Police said on Wednesday that seven more people have been arrested in the firing case targeting actor Tiger Shroff. According to police, the investigation is still at an early stage, but the arrests were made on the basis of what emerged during questioning. A total of 10 people, including two women, have so far been arrested in the case.

Police said that after the arrest of those who attacked Shroff, some key leads emerged during the investigation, and these led to seven more accused. Four of them were caught in Delhi and three in Haryana. Police are bringing them to Mumbai and will produce them in court on Thursday for further legal action.

Speaking about the preparations for the firing, Mumbai Police DCP Rajtilak Roshan said two male accused went to Amritsar and brought back weapons from there. Two women were used as couriers to deliver the weapons. One accused came to Mumbai and stayed here, and also gave logistical support to the three shooters.

Police said two accused arrested from Delhi have admitted to delivering the weapons. Of them, a man and a woman knew each other. Both women do small jobs and are also friends.

On the weapons used in the firing, police said they cannot yet say which weapon was used. Police clarified that no weapon has been recovered so far. However, the investigation has found that the weapons used in the case were brought to Mumbai by train. Police are now examining the supply chain of the weapons and are also looking into the role each person played in transporting and arranging them.

Police said the profiles of the accused have emerged. They were paid Rs 1 lakh in advance, but not in one go; it was paid in small instalments. Police are therefore tracing the links in the money trail to find out who provided the money and how it was distributed among the accused.

Based on the initial investigation, police also said that all four accused arrested in Delhi know one another. Investigating agencies are trying to establish what role each person played in the conspiracy and how these people were connected to the alleged conspiracy.

A police officer also responded to rumours that the shooters had other film personalities in their sights. The officer said such rumours should be ignored. According to the officer, this is circulating on WhatsApp, but the investigation and the questioning are at an early stage, so the officer did not wish to say anything on the matter.
