LLB student, friend stabbed in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's CIDCO area; four booked

An LLB student and his friend were attacked with a knife in the CIDCO area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The student suffered serious injuries to the fingers of his right hand, and his friend was also seriously hurt in the knife attack. Both are being treated at a private hospital.

The incident took place on October 17 in the afternoon in front of the Salani Baba Wheel Alignment Centre in N-6 CIDCO. It is alleged that four people stopped the student on the road and attacked him with a knife out of a grudge over his intervention in a quarrel at their college.

A case has been registered at CIDCO police station against Harsh Rathod, Swapnil Rathod, Sanket Rathod and Sonya. All four are accused of attacking with a knife. The complaint was filed by Pritamsing Devichand Barwal, 22, who lives in Bhagatsinghnagar in Hasul.

Pritamsing is a second-year LLB student at a well-known college. According to the complaint, his friend Saurabh Patil had a quarrel with Harsh Rathod and Swapnil Rathod on the college campus on October 13. Pritamsing had stepped in and settled the quarrel.

On Saturday afternoon, Pritamsing was riding a motorcycle with his friend Digvijay. It is alleged that Harsh parked his Bullet across their path and stopped them. Three others were with him: Swapnil, Sanket Rathod and Sonya. According to the complaint, Harsh demanded an explanation over the old quarrel and tried to stab Pritamsing with a knife.

Pritamsing caught the knife with his hand, which caused serious injuries to his fingers. When Digvijay moved forward to protect his friend, Swapnil and Sanket allegedly grabbed him. Sonya then stabbed Digvijay on the left thigh and right elbow.

As people began to gather nearby, the four accused fled towards Azad Chowk. Havaldar Gatap is investigating the case further.
