Telangana: Wife and two lovers held for murder of man found dead in Kamareddy pond

A shocking case has come to light in Telangana's Kamareddy district, where a 25-year-old married woman is accused of brutally murdering her husband with the help of her two lovers. Police have arrested the wife and both men.

The deceased is Gummadi Kashiram, 26, a resident of Hanmajipet in Banswada mandal. He supported his family by working as a labourer. On the night of October 23, 2026, his body was found floating in suspicious circumstances in a pond called "Pachera Cheruvu" on the village boundary.

Kashiram's father, Chakali Bhumaiah, lodged a complaint with the police. On that basis, police first registered a case of accidental or suspicious death and began an investigation. However, the post-mortem report showed signs that he had died of strangulation. Police then promptly altered the case to one of murder.

According to the police investigation, Kashiram's wife, Gummadi Savitha (25), was in relationships with two young men from the same village, Chintakindi Ramu (26) and Pasupula Santosh (25). Police say Savitha planned with the two to get rid of her husband.

Police say that on the night of October 23, the accused took Kashiram to a secluded spot on the pretext of drinking. There he was made to drink excessively until he was completely intoxicated and senseless. When he was helpless, Ramu is alleged to have taken a nylon rope from his pocket and begun tightening it around his neck. So that Kashiram could neither resist nor flee, the other accused, Santosh, held both his hands tightly.

Police said Kashiram died of suffocation. The three then together threw the body into the "Pachera Cheruvu" pond so that it would appear he had drowned. But the forensic team and police vigilance exposed the staged story. On the basis of technical investigation, police arrested the wife and both lovers.
