SSC releases November 2026 exam schedule; dates of two recruitment exams revised

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the schedule of examinations to be held in November 2026. According to the commission's notice, three major recruitment exams will be held this month: the Coast Guard recruitment exam, the departmental typing and stenographer skill tests, and Paper-2 of the Delhi Police and CAPF Sub-Inspector exam.

The Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test (CGEPT) will be held for both batches on November 17 and 18, 2026. The exam will be computer-based (CBE). The notice does not specify which batch will sit on which date, or give the shifts or centres.

The annual departmental typing test (English/Hindi) and the stenographer skill test (English/Hindi) will be held on November 20 and 21, 2026. These are meant for departmental candidates.

Paper-2 of the 2025 Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Sub-Inspector recruitment exam will be held on November 28, 2026. This exam will also be computer-based.

Among the exams whose dates were recently changed, Paper-1 of the Junior Engineer 2026 exam was earlier scheduled for November 2 to 6. The new notice keeps those dates but adds another window, November 30 to December 1, 2026. Paper-1 will thus be held in two phases, one in early November and the other at the end of the month.

The Sub-Inspector recruitment exam was earlier to be held between November 20 and 28, 2026. It will now run from November 23 to 28. The first three days have been dropped, while the last date remains the same. The recruitment covers the posts of Delhi Police SI, CAPF SI (GD) and CISF SI (Fire). The advertisement was for a total of 1,871 posts. The Delhi Police SI's pay falls in Level 6, roughly Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400.

The commission issues a calendar of recruitment exams every year. It carries tentative dates for recruitment to various central government ministries, departments and offices, that is, when the advertisement will appear, when applications will be taken and when the exam may be held. The SSC's tentative calendar for 2026-27 includes recruitment exams for several posts, including clerks, inspectors and engineering. But the calendar dates are provisional and can be changed if required. Candidates should therefore follow the commission's official exam notices as well as the calendar.

The SSC has advised candidates to check the official website, ssc.gov.in, regularly for admit cards, exam cities, reporting time and other instructions, and not to blindly trust news on social media or Telegram groups.
