Coast Guard recruitment: online applications from October 6, now through SSC website

The Indian Coast Guard has recently issued the official advertisement for recruitment. Eligible candidates will be selected for various posts of Navik and Yantrik.

Online applications will begin on October 6, 2026.

There is one major change this time. Earlier, the recruitment process was run through the Coast Guard's own website, but candidates must now apply on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

The department has decided to announce two separate batches, 01/2027 and 02/2027, together. This will help fill a large number of vacancies in a transparent manner.

Educational qualifications vary by post. For Navik (Domestic Branch), candidates must have passed at least Class 10 from a recognised board. For Navik (General Duty, GD), candidates must have passed Class 12 with mathematics and physics.

For the Yantrik post, candidates must have passed Class 10. They must also hold a three or four-year diploma in electrical, mechanical or electronics engineering, or an ITI qualification.

On age, the limit for general category candidates is a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 22 years.

As per government rules, reserved categories have been given relaxation in the age limit. SC and ST candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years, while OBC candidates will get 3 years.

Interested candidates should apply only after checking the educational qualification and age limit set for the post.
