Baramati: Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar said on Friday that the Someshwar factory is not anyone's private property. She appealed to the members of Someshwar to stand with her if Ajit Dada's dreams are to be fulfilled. She made the remarks in the run-up to the factory's election.

The Shri Someshwar Karkhana Vikas Purush Ajitdada Panel is contesting the Shri Someshwar factory election. Sunetra Pawar was speaking at the rally that concluded the panel's campaign.

Sunetra Pawar said the Someshwar Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana is not merely an industry that crushes sugarcane. It is the mainstay of the households of thousands of farmer members. Farmers, workers and their families are linked to the factory, so the progress of the factory is progress in the lives of all of them. She said Ajit Dada always held that the factory is not the property of any one person and that the members are its true owners.

She said this is the first election after Ajit Dada's death, and the void created by his sudden passing is still felt by everyone. However, she said, Dada's teaching was not to remain in grief but to face adversity and move ahead. She said she took up the responsibility with the resolve that the people who loved Dada must not be left orphaned.

She said that during the campaign, in villages, hamlets and settlements in Someshwar's area of operation and on the boundaries of farmers' fields, she heard memories of Ajit Dada at every place. Through a photograph in someone's home, through tears in someone's eyes, through someone's recollections, she felt that Dada is still alive in the hearts of the people. She said she would never forget the love and trust the people had shown, and that she is committed to repaying that debt of love through development work.

Speaking on the political equations changed by the election, she said her position is to take along everyone who works for the development of the factory. Rather than dividing people into who is ours and who is an outsider, the interest of the factory should be held supreme, she said. She also appealed to members to rise above electoral politics and think of the factory's future.
