Sheetal Tejali-Ugale, Pune Divisional Commissioner and electoral roll observer, will visit Pune district on Friday, October 16. It will be her second visit to the district. The visit is part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls, held on the directions of the Election Commission of India.
During the visit she will go to polling stations in Purandar, Baramati, Indapur and Daund talukas and take stock of the ongoing revision work, seeing for herself how it is being carried out.
The visit will begin at the Pune Collector's office at 11.30 am with a review meeting. Polling stations will be inspected afterwards, and the visit will end at Varvand at 7.30 pm.
During the review meeting and the inspections, information will be sought on the addition, correction and deletion of names in the electoral roll, as well as on the rest of the process. All of this will be in line with the Election Commission of India's directions.
The observer will also speak directly to booth-level officers (BLOs) and to voters, so that the difficulties arising in the revision work can be understood first-hand.
Citizens with any complaint or problem concerning the electoral roll will get a chance to put it before the electoral roll observer on this occasion. People have been asked to bring their complaints and objections along with the necessary documents.
Complaints related to voter registration can be lodged on the Election Commission of India's NGRS portal. People can also contact the toll-free call centre on 1950. District Collector and Assistant Electoral Officer Jitendra Dudi has appealed to citizens to use these facilities and take an active part in the electoral roll revision process.
