Simple Energy launches Simple Ultra e-scooter at Rs 2.45 lakh, claims 400 km range per charge
The premium electric scooter has a 6.5kWh battery pack, a 115km/h top speed and six riding modes, the company says.

Range and the need for frequent charging are the biggest worries for anyone considering an electric scooter. Simple Energy has launched its premium electric scooter, the Simple Ultra, as an answer to that problem. According to the company, the scooter runs up to 400km on a single charge. With its strong speed, large battery and premium features, it is drawing attention in the electric two-wheeler market.
The ex-showroom price of the Simple Ultra is Rs 2.45 lakh. The scooter is currently offered in orange. Though it costs more than a typical electric scooter, the company has stressed a large battery, premium features and strong performance.
The scooter has two lithium-ion battery units, of 5kWh and 1.5kWh, together making a 6.5kWh battery pack. According to the company, the scooter can run up to 400km on a full charge. With fast charging, the battery takes about 2 hours 15 minutes to go from 0 to 80 per cent. With normal charging, a full charge takes nearly 8 hours 30 minutes. The actual range, however, can vary with riding style, speed and road conditions.
The Simple Ultra has a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which produces 8.8kW of peak power and 72Nm of torque. The top speed is 115km/h, and it reaches 40km/h from a standstill in just 2.77 seconds. It gets six riding modes: EcoX, Eco, Ride, Air, Sonic and SonicX.
Features include a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, mobile app support, map navigation and call and message notifications. For safety, it has 4-level traction control, hill hold assist, a side-stand cut-off and reverse mode. It has telescopic forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear.
The scooter weighs 139kg and has a ground clearance of 172mm. It offers 26 litres of storage under the seat, which can make it useful for everyday use as well.
