Rising petrol prices and a growing shift towards environment-friendly vehicles are pushing up demand for electric scooters, with family-friendly models seeing especially strong demand this year. The recently launched Honda QC3 and TVS iQube 3.1 kWh are competing in this very segment. While the two scooters are priced almost the same, there are notable differences in battery, range, design and features.

On price, the Honda QC3's ex-showroom price in Delhi is Rs 1,35,000, while the TVS iQube 3.1 kWh is priced at Rs 1,36,127. This makes the Honda QC3 cheaper than the TVS iQube by just Rs 1,127. So there is not a big difference between the two scooters in terms of starting budget, with both falling in almost the same price bracket.

On battery and technical features, the Honda QC3 gets a 3.0kWh battery pack, and the company claims an IDC range of 145km. The scooter comes with a 5-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation and a smart key. A long seat and a large floorboard make it suitable for daily use as well.

The TVS iQube 3.1 kWh, on the other hand, comes with a 3.1kWh battery paired with a 4.4kW hub motor. The scooter has an IDC range of 123km and a top speed of 82kph. The Honda QC3's claimed range of 145km is 22km more than the TVS iQube's 123km. The TVS iQube takes 4 hours 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 percent using the standard charger. It offers two riding modes, Eco and Power, and also gets a 5-inch TFT display along with connectivity features.

On braking, both scooters get a front disc brake. The TVS iQube has a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake, while the Honda QC3 comes with a front disc and rear drum setup. Buyers are advised to consider range, charging time and their daily usage needs, and not stop at price alone, when choosing between the two.
