Every woman wants her hair to look beautiful and strong. People keep trying one thing or another to make their hair thicker: an expensive shampoo from the market at times, a conditioner to smoothen the hair at others. Even so, hair often begins to thin on both sides of the forehead, the parting looks wider, or the density of hair at the front falls.

At the start of a receding hairline, the difference is not very noticeable. Over time, however, the hair looks much thinner and the forehead begins to look bald. As the hairline moves back, the forehead appears larger. Symptoms related to hair should therefore not be ignored, and it is important to get proper treatment in time.

The front edge of the hair above the forehead and towards both ears is called the hairline. Hair thins gradually and this line begins to shift back. In some people the forehead area starts to clear, while in others the parting looks narrower. The problem is seen not only in women but also in men. Everyone's hairline is different. If the hair becomes very thin, proper treatment should be sought on a doctor's advice rather than using any product from a medical store.

Heredity is also one reason for a receding hairline. If other members of the family have thin hair and a receding hairline, the hairlines of everyone in the family, from children to elders, change. Hormonal changes in the body and the sensitivity of hair roots to certain hormones are among the factors that affect hair growth.

Hair loss is also likely because of iron deficiency, thyroid disorders, not getting the protein the body needs, and rapid weight loss. Fever, serious illness, surgery, mental stress and lack of sleep can also worsen hair problems.

Tying the hair very tightly, making braids or buns, hair being pulled repeatedly and chemical treatments also aggravate hair problems. If a large amount of hair is falling, it is extremely important to consult a doctor.

While caring for hair, care should be taken that the roots are not under tension. Hair should be tied very loosely. Machines that use the least heat should be used to straighten or curl hair.
