A group of young children left Chandrapur for Mumbai today for treatment. The children have heart ailments. They began the journey from Chandrapur railway station with their parents. The children will be operated on at a private hospital in Mumbai.

The trip is part of a free heart surgery initiative run on the initiative of MLA Kishor Jorgewar. A few days ago, a free heart disease screening camp for children was held in Chandrapur. The camp was organised on MLA Jorgewar's initiative with the District General Hospital, the Government Medical College and Hospital, and KIMS Hospital in Mumbai.

Children found during the screening to have heart disease or any heart-related ailment will have their surgery done free in Mumbai. Parents who were worried about their child's treatment because of a lack of money have found great relief.

Under the initiative, heart surgeries have already been successfully performed on 268 children. Many children have got a chance at a new life, and joy has returned to their families' faces. The initiative is being run on the thinking that no child should be denied treatment for want of money.

Sumit Bele and Arun Tikhe, along with senior office-bearers and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party's city unit, were present at Chandrapur railway station today to see the children off. As the children left, their faces showed hope of a healthy life. The parents' eyes held the dream that their children would laugh, play and live healthy lives again. They also trust that after this journey the crisis in their children's lives will end and a new future will begin.

MLA Kishor Jorgewar said the feeling behind the initiative is that the innocent smile should bloom again on the children's faces, the pain in their lives should go, and their childhood should be filled with happiness.
