Farmers under the PM Kisan scheme are now waiting for the 24th instalment. Twenty-three instalments have been paid so far, and attention has turned to the next one. The Agriculture Ministry has not yet announced when the wait will end. It is nevertheless being said that the 24th instalment could arrive by the end of this month.

There is also talk that some farmers will get Rs 4,000 directly in their accounts this time. These are beneficiaries of the scheme who could not receive the 23rd instalment because of a technical problem. The amount for that instalment may be paid to them along with the 24th, which means such farmers could receive Rs 4,000.

There is a condition, however. If a farmer has not yet completed e-KYC, or if there is a problem with the bank account, the payment may be held up again. These issues should therefore be resolved before the instalment arrives so that the money is not stopped.

To check their status, farmers should first visit the scheme's official website, pmkisan.gov.in, and click the Know Your Status option. They should then enter their registration number and the security code, followed by the OTP sent to the registered mobile number. A new page will open with the latest payment and instalment details under the scheme.

The official date for the 24th instalment has not been released. The instalment may be disbursed on or after October 20. The Agriculture Ministry usually announces the date a few days before an instalment is released, and that date has not come yet. Even so, it is expected that farmers will get the good news by the end of the month.
