Farmers await 24th PM-Kisan instalment, with 20 October date doing the rounds
Lakhs of farmers are waiting for the next Rs 2,000 PM-Kisan payment, and talk has centred on 20 October, though no official date has been announced.
Lakhs of farmers across the country are waiting for the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme (PM-Kisan). September has ended and October has begun, but the next instalment has not yet arrived. Farmers are curious about when it will come. Talk has now begun about a date in October on which Rs 2,000 could be credited to their accounts.
Many farmers believe the countdown for the 24th instalment has begun, meaning the money is due in their accounts soon. For now, they are talking about 20 October. On that date, four months will be complete since the previous instalment, and the four-month gap between one instalment and the next ends then. Farmers therefore feel the 24th instalment could arrive on 20 October.
The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026. Before that, the 22nd instalment was released on 13 March 2026. The gap between the 22nd and 23rd instalments was well under three months. For this reason, farmers believe the Centre could release the 24th instalment in October.
The date of the 24th instalment has not been announced yet. The Agriculture Ministry announces the date a few days before an instalment is released, but no official date has emerged so far.
To check the latest status of the instalment, follow these steps. First, go to the official PM-Kisan website, pmkisan.gov.in. Select the "Know your status" option there. A new window will open, in which you must enter your registration number and security code. A one-time password (OTP) will then be sent to your registered mobile number; enter it. After the OTP is entered, the latest payment and instalment details under the scheme will appear on the screen.
