PM-Kisan portal adds four updates ahead of 24th instalment; farmers urged to complete them
With the 24th PM-Kisan instalment awaited, the portal now lets farmers fix incomplete details, change mobile numbers, request refunds and find officers online.
Lakhs of farmers are waiting for the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan). The official date for the instalment has not yet been announced. Going by last year's pattern, however, it is being estimated that the money could reach farmers' accounts soon.
Several important updates have appeared on the PM-Kisan portal ahead of the instalment. Farmers can complete their incomplete details and change their mobile number from home. These are tasks farmers should settle at once.
The first update concerns incomplete details. A farmer whose PM-Kisan details are incomplete does not need to visit an office to correct them. The portal has an option to update incomplete details. Farmers should go to the portal, choose this option, enter their Aadhaar number or registration number, fill in the captcha and search. The incomplete details will appear on the screen. The required information can then be filled in and submitted online.
The second update is for adding a new mobile number. Many farmers change their mobile number or link a new number to their Aadhaar. In such cases, it may be necessary to update the mobile number in the PM-Kisan records too. The "Update Mobile Number" option on the portal can be used for this. Farmers must enter the Aadhaar number or registration number and the captcha to find the record. The new mobile number is updated once the required information is filled in.
The third facility is for refunds. If someone later finds that they are not eligible for PM-Kisan but instalment money is still reaching their account, the portal offers an online refund facility. In this option, the registration number or Aadhaar number and the captcha must be entered, followed by "Get OTP". The refund can then be completed as per the instructions given on the portal.
The fourth facility gives details of the officer concerned. If a PM-Kisan problem is not resolved, farmers can speak directly to the officer concerned. The portal has an option called "Find Your Point of Contact (POC)". For details of state-level officers, "State Nodal Contact Details" can be consulted. For district-level problems, the "Find District Nodal" option can be used. By choosing their state and district, farmers can see the officer's name, phone number and email address.
