Central Railway will carry out work in the Kasara yard and the up yard on the Igatpuri side of the Kalyan-Igatpuri section, and a special traffic and power block is being taken for it. The Asangaon-Kasara third line project work is to be done in the Kasara yard, while the necessary infrastructure is to be prepared in the up yard of the Igatpuri-side R&D extension.

Because of this technical and construction work, the operation of several express and Duronto trains on the Nagpur route will be affected between October 14 and October 22. These trains connect Mumbai, Howrah and other major cities. According to information from the railway administration, some trains have been diverted and many will leave later than scheduled.

On diversions, train number 12860 Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express, leaving Howrah on October 16, will run on a changed route instead of its usual one. It will reach Mumbai via Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Vasai Road and Thane.

The railway administration has asked passengers to check the latest status of their train before starting their journey to avoid inconvenience.
