A very large IPO is about to hit the Indian stock market. Jio Platforms, the flagship digital and telecom services company of Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited, is bringing its long-awaited IPO. The company has filed the red herring prospectus (RHP) for the issue and plans to raise Rs 30,213 crore through it. It is being said that this could be the country's largest IPO so far.

The price band for the issue has been fixed at Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119 per share. One lot in the IPO will have 12 shares. At the upper price band of Rs 1,119, retail investors will have to put in at least Rs 13,428 for one lot. At the lower price band of Rs 1,065, the same amount will be Rs 12,780.

The dates for investors are as follows. The anchor investor date is October 19, 2026. The IPO will open on October 21, 2026 and close on October 23, 2026. Share allotment will be finalised on October 26, 2026 and listing on BSE/NSE will take place on October 28, 2026.

The IPO has special provisions for people connected with the Reliance group, along with general investors. Shares worth about Rs 2,500 crore have been reserved for eligible shareholders of Reliance Industries. Shares worth Rs 500 crore are reserved for eligible employees, who will also get a special discount of Rs 54 per share.

In terms of size, the Jio Platforms IPO appears to surpass several earlier record-setting IPOs. Hyundai Motor India had earlier come out with an issue of Rs 27,870 crore, NAE's proposed IPO Rs 22,569 crore, LIC Rs 20,557 crore and Paytm Rs 18,300 crore. The Rs 30,213 crore IPO would therefore be the largest in the country's history.

The entire IPO is a fresh issue. This means all the money raised will go directly to the company and no existing shares will be sold. Jio Platforms will mainly use the amount to repay the debt of its key subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm. The remaining money will be spent on other general corporate purposes.
