Gadchandur police raided a gambling den running under an iron shed in the Ghodamguda farmland of Korpana taluka in Chandrapur district and took four accused into custody. The spot falls under the Gadchandur police station limits. The action was taken on the afternoon of October 5, 2026. Police seized cash and playing cards worth Rs 2,900 in all.

Police had received information that gambling was going on under a shed in the Ghodamguda area. Around afternoon that day, a team from Gadchandur police station was on patrol to act against illegal activities in its jurisdiction when it got a reliable tip-off. The tip said that some people were gambling with money on playing cards under an iron shed in the field of Ajmuddin Khaja Shaikh, by the side of the Ghodamguda road.

Acting on the tip, police took along two independent witnesses. The team then reached the spot quietly and raided it suddenly. According to police, Amol Bhagwan Waghmare (35), Anil Rohit Chaudhari (22), Arjun Balbhim Kale (29) and Yogesh Chandrashekhar Yewale (27) were caught red-handed gambling with money on a pack of 52 playing cards. All four accused live in Ward No. 4 of Gadchandur in Korpana taluka.

In the presence of the witnesses, police searched the four accused. Rs 550 in cash was seized from Amol Waghmare, Rs 450 from Anil Chaudhari, Rs 600 from Arjun Kale and Rs 450 from Yogesh Yewale. Police also recovered Rs 800 in cash from the gambling stake and playing cards valued at Rs 50. Together, goods worth Rs 2,900 were seized.

On October 6, 2026, the day after the raid, police havaldar Diwakar Deepchand Pawar (badge number 1444) lodged the complaint. Based on his complaint, Gadchandur police registered a case against all four accused under Section 12(A) of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act.

Police havaldar Diwakar Pawar is investigating the case further under the guidance of station house officer Pramod Banbale. Police said the accused have been taken into custody. The details are as given by police, and the four face only allegations so far.
