Flipkart Big Billion Days: 63 lakh users log on together in first minute of sale

E-commerce platform Flipkart's 'The Big Billion Days' sale has begun, and the first hour saw a huge rush of customers. Shoppers are getting a chance to buy a wide range of products with offers and discounts.
Flipkart said that in the very first minute of the first hour of the 13th edition, it recorded 63 lakh users at the same time. This is being taken as an indication of how warmly customers have received this year's Big Billion Days sale.
According to the information available, one in every 15 Indian online shoppers visited Flipkart in the first hour. Compared with a normal hour on an ordinary day, six times more Indians shopped on the platform during the sale. The number of new customers also rose by 34 per cent. For Flipkart Plus, Black members and Flipkart co-brand card members, the sale had already begun 24 hours earlier, on October 8.
During the sale, customers bought the most in mobiles, electronics, large devices, beauty products, lifestyle and home items. The first hour after the sale began has been described as a strong sign that online festive shopping has taken deep root in India. Flipkart is serving customers in every corner of the country.
On smartphones, premium and flagship models drew a good response in the sale. Affordable prices led to a clear rise in smartphone purchases. One in every four customers opted for product exchange, while one in every three chose no-cost EMI. Entry-level 5G models also sold briskly because of their prices.
Sales of large appliances rose 30 per cent year on year in the first hour, with strong demand for products such as air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines. Tablet sales jumped 73 per cent year on year. Beauty product sales rose 42 per cent year on year in the first hour, led by men's grooming and self-care products. At the peak of the sale, more than 1,600 units of men's perfume were sold every minute on Flipkart.
Orders on Flipkart Minutes also grew 3.5 times. New customers there are said to have risen 11 times. Demand for premium electronics, grooming products and wearables also went up. During early access, an iPhone 17 reached a customer in New Delhi through Flipkart Minutes in just 3.4 minutes. Demand for air fryers, laptops and external hard drives also increased.
