The weather department says no rain is expected in any region of the state for four days, with minimum temperatures easing by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

As Diwali begins, the weather in Maharashtra has started to change. The weather department has forecast that the weather will remain completely dry in different parts of the state for the next few days, with clear skies.

According to the department, conditions will remain the same across Maharashtra on November 7, 8, 9 and 10, four days in a row. There is no chance of rain in any of the four major regions: Konkan-Goa, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha. The sky will be mostly clear. This means people will have to bear the sun, but signs of a mild winter chill are also beginning to appear.

Region by region, the coastal belt of Konkan-Goa will see completely dry and clear weather. Central Maharashtra is expected to have neither cloud cover nor rain and will stay dry. Marathwada will also stay dry, with the effect of the sun being felt. Vidarbha, too, is forecast to remain completely dry between November 7 and 10.

The weather department has given important information on temperatures. Over the next four to five days, there will be no major change in Maharashtra's maximum, or daytime, temperature. The mercury will stay roughly the same. No major change in maximum temperature is expected in neighbouring Gujarat either.

The relief lies in the minimum temperature, that is, the night and morning temperature. Over the next four to five days, Maharashtra's minimum temperature will come down gradually by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. With the fall in the mercury, the pleasant winter chill is likely to strengthen in the state. In Gujarat, on the other hand, there will be no major change in the minimum temperature over the next seven days.

Here is what it means for farmers and the general public. Because of the continuously dry weather, farm work can be completed without hindrance. The weather has been described as favourable for crops that are ready for harvest. With the minimum temperature falling, a mild chill is now being felt at night.

Amid this change, people, especially small children and the elderly, are being urged to look after their health. With no rain, the weather across the state is expected to remain clear and pleasant for the next few days.
