TVS Motor has showcased the production-ready M1-S in Italy, with a 4.2 kWh battery, a 105 kmph top speed and a 7-inch TFT screen, for international markets for now.
TVS Motor has officially unveiled its new electric maxi scooter, the TVS M1-S, at the EICMA 2026 event in Italy. In the electric scooter market, looks, performance and advanced technology now matter along with range and price. The company has brought out the scooter in view of changing customer preferences, and it signals a push to strengthen its hold in European and international markets.
The M1-S looks like a sporty, large maxi scooter. It has sharp, layered panelling, a large front apron, a big windshield and slim LED lighting. The production-ready model has a white and black dual-tone theme. Orange wheels with graphics add to its sporty look. It has a single-piece stepped seat, and a rack and top box for extra luggage are likely to be offered.
On performance, the scooter has a 4.2 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery pack fitted under the floorboard, which keeps the centre of gravity low and gives good balance while riding. As per the WMTC (Worldwide Motorcycle Test Cycle) standard, it can run about 120 km on a single charge. The permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) attached to the chassis produces 16.8 hp. The scooter goes from 0 to 50 kmph in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 105 kmph.
Charging is through a 1.8 kW system, which can take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in 75 minutes. An onboard charger allows charging from a household socket. For safety, it has 230 mm disc brakes on both wheels, dual-channel ABS and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Cruise control is among its modern features.
Under-seat storage is 26 litres, enough to fit a full-face helmet easily. There are two storage areas near the dashboard, one of which has a USB-A charging port.
Features include a large 7-inch TFT screen that supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LTE connectivity. Android Auto, iOS app support, a remote key function and a "Find My Bike" facility are also provided. For now the scooter has been brought out for international markets. If it later comes to India, it could offer stiff competition in the e-scooter segment.
