Ajay Baraskar has made serious allegations against Manoj Jarange Patil and Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil. At a press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday, Baraskar alleged a range of wrongdoing by Jarange, from contracts to financial transactions. He claimed he has documents to back the allegations and that he will hand them over to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Targeting Jarange, Baraskar said, "Manoj Jarange is no longer a warrior of the struggle; he has become a tender warrior." He also alleged that a network of contracts was built through people close to Jarange.
Naming Kishor Balande, Sanjay Katare and Hemant alias Hanmant Dhumale, among others, Baraskar said there were irregularities in the contracts. He claimed that improper methods were used in tenders worth thousands of crores of rupees. He said that a list of works was drawn up and administrative approval obtained even though some of them were not needed, that estimated costs were inflated, and that large tenders were then floated and managed. All of this is Baraskar's allegation.
According to Baraskar, work worth Rs 635 crore was given to Manik Infrastructure through Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil. He alleged that companies willing to do the work at lower rates were sidelined. He asked how this company had received work on such a large scale. Baraskar also said clearly that he would hand over the documents relating to these alleged transactions to the ED.
At the press conference, Baraskar also alleged that there is a relationship of money and contracts between Manoj Jarange, Kishor Balande and some others. He claimed that some vehicles in Jarange's possession are linked to Kishor Balande. Baraskar further made personal allegations against Jarange and raised questions about his assets and transactions. He said, "I have the documents and I will give them to the ED."
It remains to be seen how Manoj Jarange Patil, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and the others respond to the allegations made at the press conference.
