Delivery boy Jagdish Kamble appeals to his mother on Kon Honar Crorepati stage

It is determination, not circumstances, that helps people achieve big dreams. Jagdish Kamble proved this on the stage of Sony Marathi's show 'Kon Honar Crorepati'. An ordinary delivery boy, he told the story of his struggles and his broken family, and won everyone's heart. The episode became not just about one contestant but about a son's anguished appeal to his mother from the stage.

Jagdish had dreamt of coming on the show, meeting Madhuri Dixit and sitting in the hot seat before her. For the occasion, he borrowed Rs 2,500 from a friend. With the money he bought a shirt for Rs 400, trousers for Rs 1,000 and shoes for Rs 1,000. But the shoes did not go well with the clothes, so he had to come in the sandals he wears every day. He said candidly that the sandals were torn. His simple manner and plain statement moved Madhuri Dixit and everyone else.

Jagdish's struggle did not end there. During the conversation, a deeply emotional and painful part of his life came out. Because of the trouble caused by his father, Jagdish's mother had left him and the whole family. He feels the void her departure left in his life every moment.

Sitting in the hot seat and remembering his mother, Jagdish became very emotional. With tears in his eyes, he said, "If my mother were with me today, I would have three stars on my chest..." Then, looking straight into the camera, he said to his mother, "Mother, wherever you are, if you are watching this programme, come back. I will not ask you anything, I will not say anything..." After this painful appeal, silence fell over the stage and everyone present was moved.

Madhuri Dixit praised Jagdish's simplicity, honesty and determination. The episode showed once again that 'Kon Honar Crorepati' is not merely a quiz game. It is a platform that gives ordinary people's dreams, pain and feelings a place to be heard.

The show can be watched Monday to Saturday at 9 pm only on Sony Marathi and Sony LIV.
