Rishikesh Madhvi told host Madhuri Dixit he would give part of any prize money to fellow contestants who never got a chance to play on Kaun Banega Crorepati.
A contestant's remark drew attention on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati this time. For contestant Rishikesh Madhvi, winning does not mean only winning for himself. What matters to him is taking others along in his happiness.
In conversation with Madhuri Dixit, Rishikesh said that if he got the chance to win a good sum on the show, he would like to give some of it to fellow contestants who never got a chance to play. Dixit was taken aback on hearing this.
Explaining his thinking, Rishikesh said that on the first day of the show and for two episodes after that, he sat waiting for his turn to come. The question of when he would get to play kept troubling him.
There was another reason for his restlessness. Before he came on the show, a video about him had been shot in his village. Everyone in the village therefore knew that Rishikesh was going to take part in the programme. He worried about what he would tell the villagers if he returned home without having played.
His own experience helped Rishikesh understand the position of the other contestants. He realises that those who do not get to sit in the hot seat may also have to return disappointed. He felt they too should have something to tell their families and fellow villagers. With this in mind, he said he would like to share part of whatever he wins with all of them.
Dixit praised Rishikesh for the sensitive and large-hearted gesture. She said, "What a thing to say! This is happening for the first time on this stage!"
