BMW Motorrad has launched the BMW F 450 GS Sport, the new top variant of its adventure motorcycle, in India. The bike is priced at Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes in Racing Red.
The Sport variant gets Racing Red paint, Sport suspension, Gear Shift Assistant Pro and Riding Modes Pro as standard. It is now the top variant in the F 450 GS line-up. The company is also offering an EMI option of Rs 9,999 a month for the bike.
On design, the Sport has the exclusive Racing Red colour, along with a Rallye windscreen, black hand protectors, off-road footrests and a plastic engine guard. The GS design is retained. An X-shaped full-LED headlamp, a front beak, a split seat, a tapered aluminium handlebar and body-colour side panels add to its adventure look.
The F 450 GS has four riding modes: Rain, Road, Enduro and Enduro Pro. Safety features include ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, Dynamic Traction Control and Engine Drag Torque Control. The 6.5-inch TFT display can show a Pure Ride Screen and a Sport Screen. A multicontroller lets the rider handle different settings easily. The Sport variant's Gear Shift Assistant Pro helps reduce clutch use while changing gears.
The BMW F 450 GS is powered by a 420cc twin-cylinder inline engine, which produces 47 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a 14-litre fuel tank and a seat height of 845 mm. It runs on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear aluminium wheels.
The other variants are priced at Rs 4.95 lakh for the Base, Rs 5.15 lakh for the Exclusive and Rs 5.60 lakh for the Trophy. The Sport variant is made at the TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The standard warranty is three years, with an option to extend it for the fourth and fifth years.
