Intense sun is beating down across the state and the rest of the country these days. With the weather changing constantly, skin problems rise along with other health troubles. Even a 10-minute outing in strong sun can darken the skin and deepen a tan on the face. Heat, sweat and pollution also begin to show on the skin.

Troubled by tanning, dull skin and oiliness, many women use various skin care products sold in the market, and sometimes go in for different skin treatments. The glow from these does not last long. Instead of using expensive chemical-based products repeatedly, a face pack made at home with curd has been suggested. An easy method of making it is given below.

On why curd should be used, it is said that when skin problems increase, curd can be taken in place of expensive skin care products from the market. The beneficial elements in curd help the skin retain moisture. With regular use, the tan on the face reduces and the skin also cools. Curd is also recommended for improving skin quality and keeping the face fresh. Curd is very light, so the face does not feel heavy.

To make the face pack, take two to three spoons of curd in a bowl. Add turmeric, gram flour (besan) and coffee powder and mix well. Before applying the pack, wash the face clean with water and dry it. Then apply the pack all over the face and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes.

Afterwards, wet the hands with water and gently massage the face. It is said that the massage helps remove dead cells that have collected on the skin. Then wash the face clean with water. Applying this face pack two or three times a week will help reduce tanning.

Always use fresh curd to make the face pack. Fresh curd keeps the face feeling fresh. With sour or stale curd, there is a risk of skin infection. A patch test is said to be essential before applying any new face pack or face mask. If there is burning, redness or itching on the face, the pack should not be applied. It should also not be applied if there are active pimples or wounds on the face.
