The ICC has recently released the schedule for the men's World Cup 2027. The tournament will begin on October 2, 2027, and the participating teams have already started preparing. Amid this, former Australia cricketer Aaron Finch has said which four teams, in his view, can reach the semi-finals.
Finch has named India, Australia, South Africa and England. In his view, these four teams can make the 2027 World Cup semi-finals. The opinion of the former Australia batter has stirred discussion among cricket fans.
A total of 14 teams will take part in the World Cup. Matches will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The ICC has released the schedule a year before the tournament begins. According to the schedule, India and Pakistan will be in the same group.
On the Indian team, led by captain Shubman Gill, it is currently performing well in ODI cricket. India also appears to be in very good form in international cricket. Along with India, Finch has named Australia, England and South Africa as semi-final contenders.
Finch has not included New Zealand and Pakistan in his list of four teams. New Zealand have made strong runs to the final or semi-final in several recent ICC tournaments, and Pakistan are also seen as traditional rivals. Even so, given the pitches in Africa, Finch has left both teams out of his list.
The big match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, in which India faced a strong Australia, is also being recalled. In the final, Australia produced a superb bowling and batting display to beat India by 6 wickets.
