Australia A defeated India A by 69 runs in the second unofficial one-day international between the two sides in Puducherry. India A, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, failed with the bat once again, with the first three batters, including captain Ruturaj, dismissed cheaply.

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. They were bowled out for 275 in 49.5 overs. Sam Konstas top-scored with 67 off 88 balls, hitting seven fours and a six. Josh Philippe made 58 off 58 balls with eight fours, while Nathan McSweeney added 32 off 39 balls.

For India, Arshad Khan bowled well to take three wickets. Yash Thakur took two, while Viprej Nigam, Nishant Sindhu, Suryansh Shedge and Anukul Roy took one each.

Chasing 276 for victory, India made a poor start as the top order collapsed against the Australian bowlers. Opener Devdutt Padikkal was out for just one run, while Sai Sudharsan returned to the pavilion after scoring 13. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who came in at number three, was dismissed for 12 off five balls. India had lost three wickets for just 30 runs. Kumar Kushagra was then out for 17 with the score at 59.

Rajat Patidar, batting at number four, scored a fine half-century, making 67 off 81 balls. But his innings could not win India the match. Anukul Roy remained unbeaten on 34 and took India past 200, but could not take the side to the brink of victory. India were all out for 206 in 45.2 overs.

For Australia, Spencer Johnson took the most wickets, three. Meredith and Tanveer took two each.

Earlier, Australia had also beaten India by a big margin of 125 runs in the first match. The third and final one-day international of the series will be played at the same ground on October 11.
