Figures on missing women and girls have emerged from Raver taluka in Jalgaon district, a matter of concern for parents and for society as a whole. According to information from the police, 95 women and girls were reported missing from the limits of the Nimbhora, Raver and Savda police stations in the nine months from January to September 2026.

Of the 95, 78 are adult women and 17 are minor girls. Eighty-eight of the women and girls have been traced and have returned home, while seven cases are still pending.

The greatest worry is about the minor girls. Reports were registered of 17 minor girls going missing, of whom 16 have been traced. Even so, incidents of minor girls leaving home need to be taken seriously. Society will have to pay attention to causes such as adolescent emotional attraction, romantic relationships, growing use of mobile phones and social media, lack of communication with parents and distance within the family.

Station-wise, 27 adult women went missing in the Nimbhora police station limits in nine months, of whom 24 have been traced. Five minor girls also went missing here, and all five have returned. In all, 32 women and girls went missing in Nimbhora.

In the Raver police station limits, 30 adult women went missing, of whom 29 have returned. Six minor girls also went missing here, and five of them have been traced. Raver's total is 36. In the Savda police station limits, 21 adult women went missing, of whom 19 have returned. Six minor girls were missing there and all six have been found. In all, 27 women and girls went missing in Savda.

According to the information available from the investigation of these cases, a background of a romantic relationship or a love marriage is emerging in most of them. It has also been found that some women and girls decided to go with a person of their choice without telling their family. However, it cannot be said outright that a romantic relationship or love marriage is the reason behind every missing case. It is necessary to investigate each case separately and bring out the actual cause.

These are only figures from police records. Many cases are settled through social compromise outside the police station and are not entered with the police, so the actual number could be higher. The figure is not limited to reports alone; it is also a serious sign of changing social conditions.
