Two women held near Dhule border for allegedly poisoning family in Jalgaon days after wedding
Parola police arrested two women within hours of a complaint that three members of a Velhane family were given rat poison in food, and that the women fled with cash and jewellery.

Three members of a family in Velhane village of Parola taluka in Jalgaon district were allegedly given rat poison in their food on the third day after a wedding, in an attempt on their lives. Parola police have arrested two women from the Dhule district border in connection with the case.
Police have taken Suman Subhash Sahani and Aarti Suryaprakash Patil into custody. Both are accused of fleeing with money and jewellery and other valuables after the wedding. Police caught them within a few hours.
According to the information given by police, Valmik Tarachand Patil of Velhane had married Suman Sahani. It is said that the bride was brought from another state after a bid of Rs 2.5 lakh to get the son married.
According to the complaint, the incident took place a few days after the wedding, on October 9. The complainant, Ganesh Patil, his father Tarachand Patil and mother Saralabai were allegedly given rat poison in their food, the complaint says.
Police investigation is said to have pointed to the involvement of Suman Sahani and Aarti Patil. The complaint also states that after attempting to kill all three members of the family by giving poison in their food, the two women left with the money and jewellery and other valuables.
Parola police began an investigation immediately on receiving news of the incident from the police patil of Velhane. Pursuing the two suspected women, police caught them within a few hours on the border of Dhule district.
Parola police are now investigating the case further. The allegations are for now at the stage of the complaint and police investigation.
