Resident doctor found dead in Sion Hospital hostel bathroom, anaesthesia overdose suspected

The death of a resident doctor studying at Sion Hospital in Mumbai has caused alarm on the hospital campus. The doctor has been identified as Shivcharan Appa Patil. His body was found last night in the bathroom of the hospital hostel. Police reached the spot soon after the news spread and began a further investigation.
It is being said that Patil died by suicide in his room at the hospital hostel. Preliminary information suggests he may have taken an overdose of anaesthesia. This is only preliminary information, and the police investigation is continuing.
Patil was in the first year of his postgraduate (PG) course in the surgery department. He was working as a resident doctor at the same hospital.
