A constable denied his preferred transfer is alleged to have driven a car at the gate of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar's official residence, and a case has been registered.

A police constable has been accused of trying to ram a car into the official residence of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, in a startling incident that has shaken the Pune police force. A case has been registered against the constable. A preliminary inquiry has found that the act stemmed from anger over a transfer.

The constable is Amol Bhise, who was posted at the Pune Police headquarters. It is being said that he may have been drunk at the time of the incident. This is described as only a possibility.

Police personnel in Pune were transferred yesterday, following recent rounds of internal transfers in the city. During these transfers, Bhise wanted a posting to a particular police station in Pune and had been trying persistently for several days. However, the list of transfers announced yesterday did not give him the posting he expected.

According to the information available, Bhise, angered by this decision, headed straight for Commissioner Amitesh Kumar's official residence while drunk. He is alleged to have driven his car at the main gate of the commissioner's bungalow, hitting it hard, and to have tried to force his way in.

Security guards and police posted at the main entrance acted with presence of mind and immediately detained Bhise. It is only being said that he has been detained. No information has been given on whether he has been arrested.

The incident has raised questions about the security of senior police officers and about discipline in the force. The allegation that a member of the force took the law into his own hands in this way has caused a major stir in Pune police circles.

A case has been registered against Bhise. However, details such as the FIR number, the sections invoked and the police station where the case was registered are not available. These are all allegations and have not yet been proved.
