Pune, November 4, 2026: With the Diwali holidays under way, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has appealed to people to make use of its special tourist bus services. The buses cover religious, historical and scenic spots in and around Pune. Air-conditioned electric buses will run on 16 fixed routes, and the ticket on every route is Rs 500 per passenger.
The services will be available every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday. Depending on passenger demand and the availability of buses, PMPML will run them on other days too. According to PMPML, the aim is to give families, tourists, devotees and nature lovers an affordable and comfortable journey. It says the tourist buses have drawn a good response from tourists, devotees and women passengers.
The routes include places such as Jejuri, Morgaon, Narayanpur, Theur, Alandi, Dehu, Sinhagad, Khadakwasla, Panshet, Lonavala, the Karla caves, Morachi Chincholi, Tulapur and Bhima Koregaon. The buses will leave from Pune railway station, Swargate, Hadapsar Gadital and Deccan Gymkhana.

The ticket on all tourist buses is Rs 500 per passenger per route. There is also a special concession for group bookings. If all 33 seats on a bus are booked together, a 100 per cent concession applies, equal to the fare of five passengers. Depending on demand, full group bookings of 33 passengers can also be made for other days.
Tickets will be available at eight PMPML pass centres: Deccan Gymkhana, Pune railway station, Swargate, Katraj, Hadapsar Gadital, Bhosari bus station, Nigdi and the PMC building. For booking enquiries, PMPML's central pass department can be reached on 020-24503236.
Tourist bus ticket holders get one more facility. On the day of travel, they can use the same ticket on other PMPML bus routes to go from home to the tourist bus's designated starting point. On the return, the ticket will likewise be valid on other PMPML buses from the tourist bus's final stop to home.
Every tourist bus will have a guide, who will give information about the places along the way and help passengers. If a service has to be cancelled because of a shortage of passengers or an unavoidable reason, passengers who have already booked can travel on the next Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.
PMPML has appealed to tourists, devotees, nature lovers and the general public to take their families on these affordable air-conditioned electric buses to places in and around Pune during the Diwali holidays.
