Pimpri Chinchwad, October 27, 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Police have taken action against 26 foreign nationals found living illegally in the city. Between January 1 and October 25, 2026, all of them were sent back to their respective countries. Those sent back include 19 women and seven men.

Police are running a drive to trace foreign nationals who came to India for education, jobs or other reasons but stayed on after their visas expired. Those who continue to live in the city after the visa period has ended are being identified. The action was said to be part of this ongoing drive.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Special Branch of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate and the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRO) are jointly keeping watch on foreign nationals living in the city. They are checking the status of their visas and whether their stay is legal. Action is being taken against those who have stayed on after the permitted period.

Officials said some foreign nationals who came to India for education or other reasons continue to live in the city after their visas expire. They take up various jobs or businesses to earn a living.

Police are also searching for Bangladeshi nationals suspected of entering India illegally. Once their details are verified, the process of sending them back to their country of origin is begun.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Dheeraj Patil said action is being taken against foreign nationals who stay in India beyond the permitted period, and the process of sending them back to their countries is under way. He appealed to citizens to inform the police if they have any information about such persons.

Police have also appealed to landlords. Before renting out a house or flat to a foreign national, they should check that the person's passport, visa and residence documents are valid. After seeing the required documents, landlords must give the tenant's details to the police as per the rules.

Those running hotels, lodges and guest houses have also been asked to keep a record of foreign nationals staying with them. If a guest stays on after the visa expires or is seen behaving suspiciously, they have been told to inform the nearest police station immediately.
