MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul World School (VGWS) is located at Rajbaug in Loni Kalbhor on the Pune-Solapur highway. It is run by the MIT Group of Institutions. The school is co-educational, with boys and girls studying together, and has boarding along with a day school. Classes run from nursery to Class 12. The school was founded in 2006 and, according to the official directory of the International Baccalaureate (IB), has been an IB World School since May 12, 2006. Its school code is IB 002767.
According to the school's website, the campus covers about 125 acres of greenery and more than 700 students from over 30 countries study there. The listing of the Boarding Schools Association of India gives about 310 boarders, 260 day scholars and 96 teaching staff. These figures were published outside the school and should be considered separately from the figures the school itself gives.
Among international schools in Pune, its biggest distinction is the complete IB continuum. It has all four programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP). According to the school's admission material, PYP covers nursery to Class 5, MYP Classes 6 to 10, and DP and CP are for Classes 11 and 12. The MYP authorisation is recorded from April 24, 2018, while the CP authorisation dates from October 14, 2025. The CP is thus a new addition, and it allows a child to stay in a single IB system from the start to Class 12.
IB records show the Diploma Programme offering subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, business management, economics, psychology, visual arts, digital society, and English, Hindi, French, German, Spanish and Korean literature. Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay are also part of it. This structure is quite different from the traditional Indian science-commerce-arts structure. A subject's presence in the directory does not guarantee that all its combinations will be available every year. Parents should therefore ask which combinations are actually running in the current Class 11 batch.
The school says its teaching rests on inquiry, values, holistic development and global citizenship, and that Indian cultural roots are retained. It refers to the guru-shishya tradition and speaks of encouraging discipline, respect, responsibility, compassion, self-awareness and leadership in children. On technology, the school's own information lists robotics, and the DP has computer science and digital society. Whether AI is taught as a separate subject will have to be checked grade by grade.
On sport, the school says boarders get more than 21 sports programmes, including swimming. Boarding is for both boys and girls, with separate facilities. The school says boarding starts from Class 1, while nursery and KG children remain day scholars. Not enough public information was found on the counsellor-to-student ratio, the present counselling staff and the special educator arrangements to say anything definite, so these will have to be asked of the school directly.
Fee details are not consistent across third-party listings, so they have not been treated as official. These put the annual day-school fee at about Rs 5 to 6 lakh and boarding at Rs 9 to 10 lakh or more. The official 2026-27 fees must be obtained from the school, and a written breakup of tuition, boarding, meals, imprest, transport, books and deposit should be sought.
Admissions, according to the school, are on a rolling basis, meaning they remain open until seats are filled. An interaction or placement assessment is held depending on the grade, and for Class 6 and above there is an entrance assessment in numeracy and language. Previous school records, a birth certificate, identity documents and medical fitness details are sought. The 8:30 am to 2:30 pm timing of MIT's separate CBSE school cannot be applied to the IB school, so the actual timetable and boarding schedule should be obtained directly from the school.
