Kondhwa police seize over 2 kg of ganja, arrest three men near SRA office

Kondhwa, November 5, 2026: Kondhwa police have seized 2 kg 119 grams of ganja and arrested three men on charges of involvement in the alleged illegal possession and sale of narcotics. The action followed a tip-off that ganja was being sold in broad daylight near the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) office in Kondhwa.

According to the police, a team from Kondhwa police station was on patrol on October 30. Police constable Amol Hirve received confidential information from an informer that two men were selling ganja on a public road near a garbage bin in the SRA office area.

On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot. The action took place on NIBM Road in Kondhwa Khurd, near Mecca Plaza Society and near Shabda Hospital, opposite the SRA office. During the operation, the police detained the suspects and seized the contraband.

The police named the accused as Danish Javed Khan (19), Kalesh Kadam (19) and Siddiqui Shakil Khatik (29). All three are residents of Shivneri Nagar in Kondhwa Khurd.

In a search, the police found ganja on the accused. A total of 2 kg 119 grams of the narcotic was seized, the police said.

An FIR numbered 850/2026 has been registered at Kondhwa police station. The case has been filed under Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and all three accused have been arrested.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and senior police officers. Senior Police Inspector Santosh Chaudhari, Police Inspector (Crime) Prashant Mandle and the Kondhwa police investigation team took part in the action.
