Landing a good internship is a defining step in the career of a management student. Earning a stipend of lakhs of rupees a month while still studying is a considerable achievement. Students of XLRI-Xavier School of Management have done just that.

Every student of the institute's 2026-28 batch has secured a summer internship. XLRI completed the summer internship placement process for this batch of the PGDM Business Management and Human Resource Management programmes at its Jamshedpur and Delhi-NCR campuses. A total of 587 students took part and received 594 internship offers. Every participating student thus got an opportunity, and the institute recorded 100 per cent placement.

A total of 106 companies from India and abroad took part in the process. Of these, 32 made internship offers to the institute's students for the first time. The highest monthly stipend was Rs 3.5 lakh, while the average monthly stipend received by students was recorded at Rs 1.75 lakh. The median stipend was Rs 1.80 lakh.

The top 10 per cent of students received an average stipend of Rs 2.58 lakh a month, while the top 25 per cent had an average monthly stipend of Rs 2.38 lakh. The figures show that students are getting a chance to work with large companies and earn well even during their management studies.

The consulting sector led this year, accounting for 30 per cent of all offers. Large firms such as Accenture, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte and PwC took part. It was followed by the FMCG, retail and consumer goods sector with a 21 per cent share. Companies such as Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé and Coca-Cola selected students for roles related to marketing and supply chain management.

The technology, e-commerce and media sector accounted for 19 per cent of the total offers, with companies such as Amazon, Google, Flipkart and Swiggy. Companies in banking, finance, manufacturing and automobiles also offered internships. Aditya Birla Group, Tata Steel, JP Morgan Chase and ICICI Bank were among them. With companies from varied sectors visiting, students could choose opportunities according to their interests and career goals.

XLRI Director Father Sebastian George expressed happiness at the students' success. He said the institute had once again maintained its record of 100 per cent placement. He said the students' hard work, the guidance of the faculty and the companies' trust in the institute had been important.

Welcoming the new recruiters, he expressed hope that the internships would help students learn excellent skills and become responsible leaders in future. This year's results point to good opportunities for management students, and the participation of large companies is giving them hands-on work experience while they study.
