A 45-year-old man died on the spot in the MIDC police station area after his 17-year-old daughter struck him on the head with a wooden bat at home.

A shocking incident has been reported from the MIDC police station area of Nagpur, where a 45-year-old man died on the spot after being hit with a wooden bat by his minor daughter at home. The incident has sent shockwaves across the city.

The deceased is said to have been addicted to alcohol. He returned home drunk on the night of the incident. It is alleged that, in an inebriated state, he hurled abuses and tried to force himself on his 17-year-old daughter. This is only an allegation, and the investigation into the case is continuing.

According to the information available, he also beat his daughter as the argument escalated. In the course of this, the daughter, in anger and while trying to protect herself, struck her father hard on the head with a wooden bat kept in the house. The father died on the spot from the serious head injury.

The control room received information about the incident on the 112 helpline. MIDC police then reached the spot immediately. Police sent the body to the AIIMS hospital for post-mortem. They have taken the minor girl into custody. Further legal action in the case is under way. It will be important to see what emerges in the police investigation.

As she is a minor, no information related to the girl's identity is being given here.

Meanwhile, there is also a sad piece of news from Gadchiroli. Rahul Prabhakar Shingare, a State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawan deployed for anti-Naxal operations, died after a snakebite.
