TVS Motor has shown a European version of the Orbiter electric scooter with removable batteries, a 105 km range and a front disc brake at EICMA 2026 in Milan.
TVS Motor has unveiled the TVS Orbiter electric scooter, built for the European market, at EICMA 2026. Its key features are a removable battery, a range of up to 105 km and a front disc brake. The scooter has been designed for daily commuting in the city.
The company plans to secure European type approval for it in 2027. Pricing and the date sales begin will be announced later, market by market.
The scooter comes with two NMC lithium-ion battery options, 1.8 kWh and 3.1 kWh. On the WMTC cycle, the range is expected to be 70 km on the smaller battery and 105 km on the larger one. It has a BLDC hub motor rated at 1.85 kW, with a peak output of 2.9 kW. The top speed is 45 kmph.
Like the model sold in India, the European Orbiter has a tubular steel frame, a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. The difference is that both batteries in the European model can be removed. It runs on 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheels. Braking is by a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum, along with CBS. The seat height is 760 mm and there is 34 litres of under-seat storage.
Features include hill hold, cruise mode and reverse assist. A 5-inch LCD display connects over Bluetooth to the TVS SmartXonnect app. LTE connectivity enables geofencing, crash alert, fall alert and live vehicle tracking. The app also offers turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts and remaining-range information.
For charging, there is a 550 W charger that works from a household socket. The 1.8 kWh battery takes 2 hours 39 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 per cent, while the 3.1 kWh battery takes 4 hours 33 minutes. The company will also offer an optional charging dock for charging the removable battery at home or elsewhere.
According to TVS, the scooter was developed, engineered and produced in India. The company says the Orbiter has completed 600 safety and structural stress tests. The scooter can be seen at EICMA 2026 in Milan, which runs from November 5 to 8.
