Toyota has updated the Innova Hycross, sold as the Innova Zenix in Indonesia, with larger screens and new features, while the engine and power are unchanged.

Toyota has updated its popular MPV, the Innova Hycross. In Indonesia the same vehicle is sold as the Innova Zenix. Following the launch there, the car is now expected to reach the Indian market soon with fresh changes. The update is said to make travelling in the car more modern and comfortable.

The biggest changes are inside the cabin. The hybrid variant now gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Some variants also get a 10-inch screen. The screen supports modern features such as an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot, smartphone connectivity and NFC e-toll.

However, some older features have been removed in this update. Rear seat entertainment and the wireless charger will no longer be available.

The top model, the Q Hybrid Modellista, has several premium features added for passenger comfort and safety. On seating, it gets an electrically adjustable driver's seat, and captain seats with an ottoman feature in the second row.

For safety, it has a dual-channel dash cam (DVR), six airbags, Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), blind spot monitoring and a 360-degree panoramic camera. On the exterior, it has 18-inch alloy wheels and a power tailgate that opens with a foot gesture.

There is no change to the mechanicals, so the engine and power remain as before. It has the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a self-charging strong hybrid system. With the help of the electric motor, the engine produces a combined 186 bhp. The gearbox is an e-CVT, and there are three driving modes: Eco, Power and EV.

Now to the price. In Indonesia, the updated hybrid model starts at around Rs 25 lakh and goes up to Rs 32 lakh for the top model. In the Indian market, the company may unveil the facelift model on November 26, according to strong talk in the auto sector.
