Italian maker Moto Guzzi has unveiled the Trip 500 roadster, to be produced in Baramati, Maharashtra, though it has not said whether the bike will be sold in India.

Italian motorcycle maker Moto Guzzi has unveiled its new middleweight roadster, the Trip 500. The news is significant for the Indian automobile sector, as the bike will be produced at Piaggio's plant in Baramati, Maharashtra. The Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457 are also built at the same plant.

Sales in Europe will begin in early 2027. Before that, the bike will be on display at the EICMA 2026 show in Milan from November 3 to 8.

The Trip 500 uses the same 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457. The engine produces about 48 hp. In the Aprilia RS 457, it makes 47.6 hp and 43.5 Nm of torque. In the Trip 500, however, the engine has been tuned to deliver smooth torque at low RPM. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike's power has also been kept within Europe's A2 licence rules.

On design, the company has moved away from its traditional transverse V-twin engine. The bike has a round LED headlamp, a metal fuel tank, a black-finish engine and alloy wheels. The company's eagle emblem appears on the headlamp, while the seat carries special "The Trip" embroidery. The fuel tank capacity is 15 litres.

The roadster weighs 180 kg and has a seat height of 790 mm. On technology, it gets a ride-by-wire throttle and three riding modes: Road, Sport and Rain. It has a 3.6-inch round TFT display with smartphone connectivity and pictogram navigation. A quickshifter will be available as an accessory. The bike also gets backlit switchgear and full LED lighting.

The Moto Guzzi Trip 500 will be sold in three colours: Black Metropolis, Green Grove and Red Beat. A special edition called The Opening will also be introduced.

Although the bike will be produced in Maharashtra, the company has said nothing about whether it will be brought to India for sale. Indian motorcycle enthusiasts are now watching for the company's next decision.
