The updated MPV is expected to get a new front end and cabin, and a flex-fuel strong hybrid version is also being talked about.
The facelifted Toyota Innova Hycross, a popular model in the Indian market, is likely to be unveiled on November 26, 2026. The update could bring changes to the vehicle's front design as well as the cabin. A flex-fuel strong hybrid version that runs on ethanol-blended fuel is also being discussed.
The biggest difference in the exterior design may be at the front. According to patent images, it could get a square grille with a diamond pattern, slim projector headlamps and a new bumper. The design of the LED fog lamps on the bumper may also change. New alloy wheels could give the side profile a fresh look. Changes are expected in the LED graphics of the tail lamps at the rear, but the vehicle's overall size and MPV design are likely to remain the same.
The cabin could also see some key updates. The model spotted during testing showed a raised centre console and a new automatic gear selector. A bigger touchscreen, updated software, new seat upholstery and a dark theme could also be offered. The seating configuration of the current model is likely to be retained. Buyers looking for a large family MPV could thus get a familiar cabin layout along with new features.
The flex-fuel strong hybrid version is the subject of the most curiosity around the facelift. Toyota has earlier shown a prototype of the Innova Hycross that runs on E85 fuel. E85 is a petrol-ethanol blend containing up to 85% ethanol. In that model, the spark plugs, piston rings, fuel pump, filter, fuel lines, fuel tank material and engine control settings were changed. An ethanol sensor and a cold-start system were also part of it. Even so, there is no clear information yet on when this version will go on sale in India. It is also not certain whether the E85 flex-fuel version will be introduced along with the facelift.
On the engine, the current Innova Hycross has a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 173 hp and comes with a CVT gearbox. The strong hybrid version produces 184 hp and has an e-CVT transmission. The company claims a mileage of 16.13 kmpl for the petrol version and 23.24 kmpl for the hybrid version.
The MPV's ex-showroom price in Mumbai is currently between Rs 19.53 lakh and Rs 32.95 lakh. The facelift is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model. Attention will now be on what the company announces about the new features, pricing and the flex-fuel version. The launch date and other details need to be confirmed with the company.
