Toyota Kirloskar sells 28,218 vehicles in September, nine-month sales up 8%
Toyota Kirloskar Motor's January-September sales reached 2,94,914 units, with domestic sales up 9% and exports down 2%.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded total sales of 28,218 vehicles in September 2026. This includes 25,027 units sold in India and 3,191 export units.
The first nine months of the year were also significant for the company. Between January and September, its total sales reached 2,94,914 units, an 8% year-on-year increase. The nine-month sales are now close to the key milestone of 3 lakh vehicles.
The domestic market accounted for a large share of this growth. Between January and September, the company sold 2,69,619 vehicles in India, against 2,47,081 units in the same period last year, a 9% rise in domestic sales. In the nine months, 25,295 vehicles were exported, 2% fewer than the 25,743 units of last year.
SUV and MPV models have a major place in Toyota's Indian portfolio. The Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner and Legender are produced in India. The Camry hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Hilux are also in the company's line-up. The Glanza, Rumion and Urban Cruiser Taisor models are also available to customers.
Some key updates to the portfolio could be seen in the coming days. The Glanza facelift is likely to arrive in October, while the Innova Hycross facelift could come in early 2027. The updated Hycross is likely to retain the existing petrol and strong hybrid powertrains.
Toyota has two production plants at Bidadi, Karnataka, with a combined annual production capacity of up to 3.42 lakh units. With about 2.95 lakh vehicles sold in January-September, the company has come very close to the 3 lakh-unit milestone in 2026. The auto market will watch whether Toyota's sales cross this milestone in the last three months of the year.
