Mercedes-Benz, Denza, Toyota, JSW Motors, Hyundai and Volkswagen are expected to launch or update seven models over the next two months.
November and December 2026 are set to be important months for the car market. Companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Denza, Toyota, JSW Motors, Hyundai and Volkswagen are either about to bring in new cars or preparing to present updated versions of existing models. The list includes an electric SUV, a plug-in hybrid MPV, a flex-fuel hybrid and a facelifted sedan. In all, seven models are being talked about.
First is the Mercedes-Benz GLC electric, which will be launched in India on November 4. Its GLC 400 4MATIC variant gets a 94 kWh battery, 355 hp of power and 800 Nm of torque. According to the company's claim, the car reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.3 seconds and offers a range of 673 km on the WLTP test.
The Denza Z9 GT will arrive in India on November 13. Its plug-in hybrid variant has 764 hp of power, while the electric variant makes 1,140 hp. The premium MPV Denza D9 is also likely to be launched the same day. The WLTP range of its electric variant is stated to be up to 520 km.
An updated Toyota Innova Hycross is expected on November 26. It is expected to get cosmetic changes and possibly a flex-fuel hybrid powertrain option. If that happens, Indian customers will get a new fuel choice. The features will be settled only after the company releases full details.
In December, JSW Motors is preparing to unveil its first car, the Combat. It is a five-seater D-segment SUV with a plug-in hybrid system. The car will be assembled in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from CKD kits imported from China.
The Hyundai Ioniq P is a compact electric SUV built specially for India and is likely to be launched in December. It could compete with the Tata Nexon.ev and the Kia Syros EV. It is likely to use an LFP battery from the Chinese company Svolt. However, details of the battery capacity and driving range have not yet emerged.
The Volkswagen Virtus sedan is also likely to get a facelift in December. Its 1.0-litre TSI engine may get an 8-speed automatic gearbox in place of the current 6-speed automatic. Changes such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, full-LED headlamps, front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera are also expected.
Overall, several new electric, hybrid and petrol options could reach customers over the next two months. The dates and features of some models may change. It would therefore be wise to check the price and full details released by the companies before deciding to buy a car.
