Chandrapur: There is no truth in the claim that 14,694 voters of the Rajura Assembly constituency cannot be accounted for, Electoral Registration Officer and Rajura Sub-Divisional Officer Ravindra Mane has said. According to him, voter registration and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) in the constituency are being carried out transparently and in line with the rules, as directed by the Election Commission.
Mane said that as per the records available on June 18, 2026, the Rajura constituency had 3,10,584 voters. Enumeration Forms were printed for all of them and distributed through booth-level officers (BLOs). Of these, filled and signed forms of 2,72,846 voters have been received and digitised.
The concerned BLOs separately verified the voters whose forms were not received. According to Mane, category-wise details of these 37,738 voters are ready. Of them, 20,666 voters have permanently shifted elsewhere, 9,129 are dead, 3,352 were not found at their address or are absent, 3,817 are already registered elsewhere, and 774 fall in this category for other reasons.
Mane said the administration holds the necessary records for all these entries and that the revision of the electoral roll is proceeding by the prescribed process.
On action against suspected fake registrations, he said 7,465 suspicious applications for voter registration based on forged documents came in through the ERO NET online system. BLOs examined them. In 6,853 applications, the applicant was not found at the given address, the applicant did not exist, or photographs and required proof were missing, and these were rejected as per the rules. A case has been registered at Rajura police station on October 19, 2024, under FIR No. 0629 on the complaint of Tehsildar Omprakash Gond, and further investigation is on.
On informing political parties, Mane said registered parties were briefed from time to time. Meetings were held at the sub-divisional office on May 11, July 6, July 11, July 29, August 10, August 13 and September 21, 2026. They were briefed on voter verification, submission of enumeration forms and the revision process. The list of the 37,738 voters whose forms were not received has also been given to the parties on a pen drive.
The draft electoral roll published on August 31, 2026, has 2,72,846 voters. It has been kept at polling stations, tehsil offices, panchayat samiti offices and municipal council offices for public viewing. In verifying this list, 9,009 entries of Logical Discrepancy and No Mapping were found that need verification. Twenty-five Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) have been deployed to hear these cases. Hearings and verification are on in all four tehsils and about 50 per cent of the work is complete. Documents received from voters are being uploaded on the BLO app.
According to Mane, the plan is to complete the remaining work on schedule and publish the final electoral roll on November 16, 2026.
