An auto driver was abused and assaulted with intent to kill at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Risod town, it has been alleged. Sailila Auto Union, Risod, has submitted a written complaint at Risod police station and demanded strict action against those concerned.

According to the union's complaint, the incident took place at 10.30 am on Thursday. Union members were parked with their autos at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk as usual. At the same time, Prabhakar Natthuji Ingle had parked his two-wheeler right in the middle of the road, the complaint states.

The two-wheeler was obstructing traffic, so union member Arun Phuke moved it to the side of the road. According to the complaint, Prabhakar Ingle abused him over this.

The complaint alleges that about 20 minutes after the abuse, Prabhakar Ingle and his two sons suddenly attacked auto driver Arun Phuke with intent to kill, without any reason. All these allegations are from the complaint filed by the union.

The union's president, Rahul Jumde, submitted the complaint to Risod station house officer Rameshwar Chavan. He demanded that the footage be examined, strict action be taken against the person concerned and justice be given to the members of Sailila Auto Union.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed by the police station on Bagdia's house, the complaint says.

Bharat Mothe, Arun Phuke, Laxman Phuke, Bhagwan Telge, Ramesh Pawar, Suresh Pawar, Vitthal Davand, Deepak Dalve, Bhimrao Shirsath, Ashok Khandare and other union members and office-bearers were present with Jumde when the complaint was submitted.

The incident has caused anger among auto drivers in Risod. There is now also a demand that the growing bullying in the town be curbed.
