Special team begins probe into Risod tahsildar's entire work, including reel case
A special committee has started examining all administrative work of Risod tahsildar Pratiksha Tejankar, along with the reel made at the tehsil office in Washim district.
Trouble has mounted for Risod Tahsildar Pratiksha Tejankar, who drew attention over a "cinematic reel" made at the Risod tehsil office in Washim district. A special team is now examining all her administrative work.
The special inquiry committee was formed on the directions of Amravati Divisional Commissioner Nayana Gunde. The committee reached the Risod tehsil office on Thursday and looked into several matters. Committee officials said the team collected office records, details of the office's functioning and information related to the reel case. Tejankar was also questioned.
The committee is headed by Buldhana Additional District Magistrate Sudhir Khande. Amravati Assistant Commissioner Santosh Kanse is a member. The government had earlier directed that all her administrative work as Risod tahsildar be examined by a special team.
Initially it appeared that the inquiry would be limited to the reel case. But several matters related to her administrative work during her tenure as tahsildar are now being examined. According to the government order, the inquiry focuses on all of these along with the reel case. Once the inquiry is complete, the report will be submitted to senior officials.
The matter had come to light when it emerged that a reel had been made at the tehsil office, with her seated on the government chair and with office work in the background. The state government then took note and ordered a special inquiry into her administrative work.
Meanwhile, there is talk of various kinds about some revenue work during her tenure and about illegal excavation. However, it has not so far been established in the inquiry that any irregularity took place in these matters. The final outcome on them will therefore be clear only after the inquiry report.
The special inquiry committee is understood to be submitting its report to Divisional Commissioner Nayana Gunde. Administrative circles in Washim district are watching what the inquiry turns up and what findings the report records.
Additional District Magistrate Sudhir Khande said the inquiry is still on and it is not possible to say anything now. He said that after the inquiry is complete the report will be submitted to senior officials, who will then share information on it.
Amravati Assistant Commissioner Santosh Kanse said, "We are conducting the inquiry." He said what the inquiry actually finds will become clear after the report is submitted, and that the report will go to senior officials.
