Twenty Opposition parties joined a four-hour rally in Delhi, where Rahul Gandhi attacked the Chief Election Commissioner, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister over alleged electoral irregularities.

The INDIA bloc held a large demonstration at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The rally lasted four hours and was attended by 20 Opposition parties.

Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi strongly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, as well as Gyanesh Kumar.

Several senior Opposition leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Tejashwi Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and M.A. Baby, addressed the gathering from the stage. The rally was called to protest alleged irregularities in the electoral process and the SIR process.

Gandhi made serious allegations against the Chief Election Commissioner. "Gyanesh Kumar cannot sleep at night. He is frightened. He has tried to suppress the voice of the country," he said.

Gandhi went on to say, "After Gyanesh Kumar, we will stand before you. Legal action will be taken against vote theft, and the country will get justice."

Even after criticising Modi and Shah, Gandhi made clear that his fight is not against any individual. According to him, it is a fight to save the Constitution and democracy. "We do not hate Modi, Shah or Gyanesh Kumar. We are people who run a shop of love," he said, reiterating that he would stay on the path of non-violence.

On the SIR and the voter list, Gandhi claimed that the names of 13.5 crore voters had been removed after the 2024 election. He also said that one in every seven voters had been struck off the rolls. According to Gandhi, these claims are based on the Election Commission's own figures.

He also raised the issues of farmers and students. Gandhi said the country's farmers should get a fair return for their labour and students should find jobs after completing their studies. He also said the country should not be the property of just two or three people.

At the Delhi rally, the INDIA bloc targeted the Union government over the Election Commission, the SIR and voter lists.
