BJP's Sudhakar Kohle has overtaken Abhijit Wanjari in the Nagpur division graduates' constituency, but no candidate has yet reached the quota of 75,438.

The picture changed in the 2026 Nagpur division graduates' constituency election as the second round of counting was completed. In the first round, BJP's Sudhakar Vitthalrao Kohle trailed by 927 votes. After the second round he has moved ahead, and Abhijit Wanjari has fallen behind.

According to second-round figures released by the election department, Kohle now has a total of 60,924 votes after the distribution of second-preference votes. This comprises 28,071 from the first round and 32,853 from the second. No other candidate received as many votes in the second round as Kohle.

Wanjari got 28,998 votes in the first round and added 27,632 in the second, taking his total to 56,630. He led Kohle by 927 votes after the first round, but now trails him by 4,294.

Nitesh Karale is third. He got 14,708 votes in the first round and 9,541 in the second, a total of 24,249.

The quota is still some way off. The Election Commission has fixed the quota for this election at 75,438. The formula is half of the total valid votes, plus one. After the second round, total valid votes stand at 1,50,874, rejected votes at 15,032 and total votes at 1,65,906.

No candidate has so far crossed the quota of 75,438. Kohle needs 14,514 more votes to reach it, while Wanjari needs 18,808. The election may therefore go to a third round, or the votes of the candidates with the fewest votes may be transferred again.

The position of the remaining candidates is as follows. Sanjay Thool got 1,762 votes in the first round and 1,329 in the second, a total of 3,091. Sumedh Gadapayle's 521 and 575 make 1,096. Mangesh Wankhede received 642 and 387, a total of 1,029. Atul Deshmukh has 576 and 345, or 921 votes, and Dhananjay Borkar has 612 and 237, making 849.

The figures show that most second-preference votes of Karale's voters went to the BJP. This is why Kohle gained such a big lead in the second round.
